About me

I'm Matt, a Senior Technical Instructor at Amazon Web Services specialising in artificial intelligence and machine learning — particularly generative and agentic AI solutions. I help organisations identify AI opportunities and implement solutions effectively and responsibly to derive business value.

teaching artificial intelligence and machine learning, designing technical curriculum, creating tailored customer learning pathways, and speaking at major events.
You may have seen me on stage at global AWS Summits, AWS re:Invent in Las Vegas, or community conferences like BSides Canberra, where I've explored and presented topics ranging from AI implementation to Large Language Model security.
I've also worked in partnership with Udacity to design and develop the four AWS AI & ML Scholars courses — Introducing Generative AI with AWS, Future AWS AI Scientist, Future AWS Business Intelligence Engineer, and Future AWS AI Engineer.
I create microlearning videos on YouTube, LinkedIn, and TikTok, breaking down complex AI concepts into bite-sized segments.
In my spare time I dive into software development and cybersecurity research, and enjoy building home automation projects. I am also involved in Mesh O Live a startup building timing solutions for orienteering.
Interesting somewhat-random skills I hold an unrestricted multi combination driver licence (yes, I can drive semi-trailers, b-doubles, and road trains!). I also hold a commerical drone pilot licence.
